Es ist der am zweith\u00e4ufigsten besuchte und der erste Wintersportort auf bulgarischem Gebiet. Borovets wurde Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts popul\u00e4r, nachdem der bulgarische F\u00fcrst Ferdinand 1898 dort seine Winterresidenz errichten lie\u00df. Auch heute noch ist Borovets das Ziel Nummer eins f\u00fcr den Wintertourismus.
