Urbanites: Neon Dancing is een nieuw project van choreograaf Kosta Karakashyan, een interactief evenement dat dans, digitale kunst en jaren 80 muziek combineert. Het vindt plaats op 6 november in Sofia, de Bulgaarse hoofdstad. Wij vertellen je alles over deze fantastische datum.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUrbanites: Neon Dancing\u201d is de vrucht van de verbeelding van de Bulgaars-Armeense regisseur, choreograaf en performer Kosta Karakashyan, in samenwerking met de Macedonische ontwerper Gjorgji Despodov en het creatieve platform Urbanites Sofia, dat hedendaagse dans en digitale kunst verenigt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Het evenement \u201cUrbanites: Neon Dancing\u201d brengt choreografie samen, live gecre\u00eberd voor het publiek, een elektronische jaren 80 DJ-set en visuele kunst, waaronder installaties en projecties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDoor in \u00e9\u00e9n uur een nieuw danswerk te cre\u00ebren in de club, willen we ons publiek laten zien hoe een creatief proces in de studio eruit kan zien als we het hebben over hedendaagse dans. We hebben ook interactieve opdrachten voorbereid, waarmee het publiek de acties van de dansers kan be\u00efnvloeden, wat tot totaal onverwachte resultaten kan leiden!\u201d <\/em>vertrouwt Karakashyan. \u201cIk heb het genoegen om met drie ongelooflijke dansers te werken en we kunnen niet wachten om de taken van het publiek en de speciaal samengestelde afspeellijst van Stranger Synths te laten vibreren.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ook bestaat de cast van Neon Dancing uit de bekende Bulgaarse danskunstenaars Stephanie Handjiiska, Vladimir Gruev en Iskra Daskalova. Zij zullen een geheel nieuw dansstuk<\/strong> met de geluiden van Stranger Synths - Nikolay Vajarov en Dragomir Donchev, bekend van hun kenmerkende jaren 80 synthwave sets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

De kostuums worden gemaakt door SRB<\/a> - een fris, nieuw streetwearmerk met Franse, Armeense en Bulgaarse wortels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stedelingen Sofia<\/strong> is een platform voor hedendaagse kunst en cultuur dat jonge opkomende kunstenaars ondersteunt door hen de kans te geven hun werk te presenteren tijdens evenementen, tentoonstellingen en online. Het belangrijkste werkterrein is beeldende kunst, maar in deze editie combineren ze voor het eerst podiumkunsten en digitale kunsten. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hun clubevenementen zijn ge\u00efnspireerd op de connectie tussen beeldende kunst, muziek en clubcultuur: hun gemeenschappelijke behoefte om te stimuleren en diepe sensaties en indrukken op te roepen bij een publiek. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

De afgelopen jaren hebben verschillende galeries en musea over de hele wereld, zoals de Tate Modern en Saatchi, clubevenementen georganiseerd waarbij galerieruimtes en clubcultuur werden verenigd, en dit is het tweede evenement van deze aard dat Urbanites Sofia heeft georganiseerd in EXE CLUB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meer over de kunstenaars :<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gjorgji Despodov<\/strong> is een kunstenaar en multidisciplinair ontwerper gevestigd tussen Bulgarije en Macedoni\u00eb. Hij studeerde in 2019 af met een BA in Reclamevormgeving aan de Nationale Academie van Kunsten in Sofia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Momenteel werkt hij als grafisch ontwerper bij een digitaal bureau in Sofia en als freelancer. Gjorgji heeft een visueel vocabulaire dat is be\u00efnvloed door popart, cinematografie uit de jaren 80 en het ontwerp van Memphis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMijn creatieve benadering van ontwerpen is het cre\u00ebren van een sterke indruk van de uiterlijke vorm met een impliciet verhaal. Ik probeer vaak te werken om een verzameling gewone voorwerpen in een ongebruikelijke context weer te geven, waardoor bekende dingen een nieuwe betekenis krijgen.\u201d <\/em>zegt de kunstenaar.

Kosta Karakashyan<\/strong> is een Bulgaarse regisseur, choreograaf, performer en schrijver. Kosta is tweevoudig Bulgaars nationaal ballroomkampioen en heeft opgetreden en gechoreografeerd in Dancing with the Stars Vietnam en in Bulgarije, New York, Canada, Duitsland, Noorwegen en Vietnam. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hij studeerde af aan Columbia University met een BA in dans. Onder zijn creatieve studio Studio Karakashyan regisseert hij ook filmprojecten, en vorige maand ontving hij de Lumiere Award in Canada voor zijn film WAITING FOR COLOR over de aanhoudende LGBTQ+-vervolging in Tsjetsjeni\u00eb. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kosta volgt momenteel een masteropleiding mensenrechten aan de Global Campus of Human Rights in Veneti\u00eb. Als kunstenaar onderzoekt Kosta hoe tederheid en empathie in de samenleving gevoed kunnen worden door middel van dans, film en onderwijs, met name als het gaat om het bereiken van gelijke rechten in Bulgarije.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
