Christo's laatste gebaar van liefde voor de stad waar hij in 1958 zijn toevlucht zocht, op de vlucht voor het communistische Bulgarije.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Heb je al van Christo gehoord? Misschien niet. Maar dankzij de Arc de Triomphe nu wel! Christo was eigenlijk een Bulgaarse kunstenaar die in de jaren 1950 Bulgarije ontvluchtte. Hij verhuisde eerst naar Parijs en daarna naar New York nadat hij zijn vrouw Jeanne-Claude had ontmoet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beiden staan bekend als een stel hedendaagse kunstenaars en vooral om bepaalde werken. Hun kunst bestaat voornamelijk uit het \u201cverpakken\u201d van plaatsen, gebouwen, monumenten, parken en landschappen. Ze \u201cverpakten\u201d bijvoorbeeld de Reichstag in Duitsland in 1995 of de Pont Neuf in Parijs in 1985.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-src=\"blob:https:\/\/madamebulgaria.com\/dce52359-9d9f-4224-9098-c11c0491a384\" alt=\"Arc de Triomphe in Parijs door Christo \" width=\"1000\" class=\"lazyload\" height=\"700\"\/><figcaption>Christo in zijn atelier in New York, met een voorbereidende tekening voor \u201cThe Arc de Triomphe empaquet\u00e9\u201d, 20 september 2019. (\u00a9 Wolfgang Volz \/ 2019 Fondation Christo et Jeanne-Claude).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Afgezien van het feit dat ze beroemd zijn in het Westen en dat Christo Bulgaar is, is de belangrijkste reden waarom we besloten hebben om vandaag over Christo te schrijven dat vanaf gisteren (18 september 2021) tot 3 oktober de Arc de Triomphe in Parijs \u201cingepakt\u201d zal zijn. Dit is een van hun werken (postuum).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Het team van Christo en Jeanne-Claude produceerde L'Arc de Triomphe ingepakt, Parijs (1961-2021), volgens de wens van Christo, die wilde dat het project zou doorgaan na zijn dood op 31 mei 2020. Hiervoor was 25.000 vierkante meter recyclebare blauwzilveren polypropyleen stof nodig en 3.000 meter rood koord van hetzelfde materiaal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Een project dat zichzelf financiert - Zoals alle artistieke projecten van Christo en Jeanne-Claude, zal L'Arc de Triomphe verpakt, Parijs (1961-2021) volledig zelf gefinancierd worden dankzij de verkoop van originele werken van Christo: collages, tekeningen van dit project en andere, maar ook maquettes, werken uit de jaren vijftig en zestig en lithografie\u00ebn. Dit zou een 150 meter hoog bouwwerk worden dat bestaat uit duizenden vaten olie midden in de woestijn. Dit is een project waar hij in 1977 mee begon, maar dat nog steeds niet kon worden gerealiseerd. Bovendien zou het werk voor het eerst permanent zijn.
