Veliko Tarnovo ligt in het centrum van Noord-Bulgarije, op 221 km van Sofia en 226 km van de Zwarte Zee.<\/h3>\n<p>Toen ik Veliko Tarnovo voor het eerst bezocht in augustus 2014, had ik er nog nooit van gehoord en om heel eerlijk te zijn had ik ook niets georganiseerd. Toen ik daarna een gids opensloeg, schaamde ik me dat ik zoveel geschiedenis en plaatsen om te bezoeken voorbij had laten gaan... Ik besloot terug te gaan en het te bezoeken. Het was een echte verrassing om te ontdekken dat er veel leuke plekken waren in de stad en de omgeving.<\/p>\n<p>Veliko Tarnovo staat bekend als <em>\u201cDe koningin van de Bulgaarse steden\u201d<\/em>. Deze historische stad ligt te midden van een amfitheater van beboste heuvels, in de holte tussen de rivier de Donau en het Balkangebergte, gescheiden door de kronkelende rivier de Yantra, waarvan de meanders 3 schiereilanden vormen (Tsarevets, Trapezitsa en Sveta Gora), die een onwaarschijnlijk en atypisch gebied vormen.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_10316\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10316\" style=\"width: 2736px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-10316 size-full lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-src=\"http:\/\/madamebulgaria.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/DSC02013.jpg\" alt=\"Veliko Tarnovo\" width=\"2736\" height=\"1824\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10316\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">@MadameBulgarije<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>De stad is in de Bulgaarse geschiedenis en het collectieve geheugen bewaard gebleven als de majestueuze en bloeiende hoofdstad van het Tweede Bulgaarse Rijk.  In feite, i<span lang=\"en\">n 1185 werd de stad de hoofdstad van de Bulgaarse staat hersteld door de broers - Bojaren\u00a0<em>Assen &amp; Petar<\/em>. Dit kondigde het einde aan van de Byzantijnse overheersing in Bulgarije, die 167 jaar duurde. Eeuwenlang was het het politieke, administratieve, culturele en spirituele centrum van Bulgarije, terwijl de stad zich zeer snel ontwikkelde. Het is een belangrijk ori\u00ebntatiepunt voor Bulgarije en de statistieken laten zien dat de stad en de regio in de top tien staan van de meest bezochte toeristische bestemmingen in Oost-Europa (met 1,5 miljoen bezoekers in 2013).<em> -&gt;&gt; ja, het is waar, geschreven in dit <a href=\"http:\/\/bnr.bg\/en\/post\/100401597\/veliko-tarnovo-bulgarias-tourism-champion\"><span style=\"color: #808080;\">artikel<\/span><\/a><\/em>). In 2009 kreeg Veliko Turnovo de titel \u201c<em>Balkan hoofdstad van cultureel toerisme<\/em>\u201c. Daarnaast is het ook de locatie van de meest prestigieuze universiteiten van Bulgarije met de\u00a0<em>\u201cUniversiteit Sint-Cyrillus en Methodius <\/em>en de \u201c<em>Vasil Levski\u201d Nationale Militaire Universiteit van Bulgarije.<\/em>\u00a0Er wonen ongeveer 89 000 mensen. We hebben er een paar uitgekozen die we met voorrang willen bezoeken.<\/p>\n<h4>De oude binnenstad van Veliko Tarnovo<\/h4>\n<p>Het is absoluut de mooiste plek van de hele stad en een waar genoegen om het te ontdekken, kijkend naar de traditionele\u00a0<span lang=\"en\">gebloemd\u00a0<\/span>huizen en de unieke bouwstijl en wandelen door twee hoofdstraten,<span lang=\"en\">\u00a0de <strong>Rakovski <\/strong>en<strong> Gurko Straten. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_10320\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10320\" style=\"width: 2500px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-10320 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-src=\"http:\/\/madamebulgaria.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/VT-2.jpg\" alt=\"Veliko Tarnovo\" width=\"2500\" height=\"1600\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-10320\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">@MadameBulgarije<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span lang=\"en\">De <strong>Rakovski-straat<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en\">wordt waarschijnlijk het meest bezocht door bezoekers. T<\/span><span lang=\"en\">Zijn voetgangerspad wordt omzoomd door oude architecturale huizen, tavernes, ambachtelijke schilderswinkels, houtsnijders, goudsmeden, juweliers en kunstgalerie\u00ebn. Het verzamelt en bewaart de werken van Bulgaarse kunstenaars en toont de ontwikkeling van de kunst door de jaren heen. Er zijn 3 afdelingen: schilderkunst, tekenkunst en beeldhouwkunst. Openingstijden: di - zo: 10:00 - 18:00 \/2 BGN (gratis op dinsdag) \/Located Asenevtsi Park \/Phone : 062638961.<\/p>\n<h3>Kerk van St. Cyrille St. Methodius<\/h3>\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\" class=\"tw-data-text vk_txt tw-ta tw-text-small\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"Traduction en cours\u2026\" data-prev-placeholder=\"Traduction en cours\u2026\"><span lang=\"en\">Deze kerk ligt in een tuin met uitzicht op de straat en werd in 1861 gebouwd door bouwmeester Kolju Ficeto. Een gewelfde narthex leidt naar het heiligdom waarvan de zijbeuken zijn bekroond met gewelven die zijn omgevormd tot scheepsrompen. Het interieur bevat een barokke galerij en een rijk versierde iconostase.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Architecturale reserve van Arbanassi<\/h3>\n<p class=\"tw-data-text vk_txt tw-ta tw-text-small\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"Traduction en cours\u2026\" data-prev-placeholder=\"Traduction en cours\u2026\"><span lang=\"en\">Op de weg naar Arbanassi - het dorp Arbanassi ligt 4 km ten noordoosten van Veliko Tarnovo, op een hoog plateau met een prachtig uitzicht op de heuvels Tsarevets en Trapezitsa. Het dorp is een populaire toeristische bestemming met zijn opmerkelijke oude huizen en kerken met gedetailleerde houten ornamenten en muurschilderingen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"tw-data-text vk_txt tw-ta tw-text-small\" dir=\"ltr\" data-placeholder=\"Traduction en cours\u2026\" data-prev-placeholder=\"Traduction en cours\u2026\"><span lang=\"en\">In deze oude stad zijn monumenten bewaard gebleven van de prachtige architectuur uit de tijd van de Bulgaarse Opwekking, oude kerken en schilderachtige vlakten met bloemen en groen. Oorspronkelijk gebouwd in de 15e eeuw.
