Bulgaria is an amazing eastern European country with a rich culture and unbelievable views. It is also famous for its summer and winter resorts. Tourists and locals can practice many different sports including golf. We share with you our 6 favorite golf resorts to enjoy in Bulgaria, where we love to play.
In fact, Bulgaria is a place every person keen on golf should travel to. Bulgaria has what to offer to golf players very nice parties of golf.
Firstly, from April to September, the weather in the small country tucked into Eastern Europe is perfect for outdoors activities. Indeed, there is a lot of sunshine throughout the whole summer and only a few rainy days.
Furthermore, there are many excellent Golf and Spa hotels that offer to their guests amazing experiences. That’s mainly due to the fact some of them are located near beaches or offer other activities. In this way, the tourists can choose whether to play golf or sunbathe for example.
This is a great option if you’re planning a holiday with someone who’s not much into Golf. He/she will thus have opportunity to enjoy spending some time in the sun or in the spa.
Here are some of the most famous golf resorts where we also like to play golf in Bulgaria :
RIU Pravets Golf & Spa Resort
The resort is located near Sofia and is one of the most preferred Bulgarian hotels. To its guests the hotel offers a 18-hole, par 72, and a Championship golf course. But that’s not all! There you will be able to enjoy a spa center, a 25-metre indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, and a gym. Also, you will few restaurants, a bowling alley, and a kids club.
St. Sofia Golf Club
Another golf resort near Sofia is the one located in the village of Ravno Pole, about 20 minutes from the center of the Bulgarian capital. It is called the St. Sofia Golf Club.
We tried this golf resort for the first time in June 2020. We really appreciated it. With Alexander, we spent two hours working our swing on the pratice area. We paid only for the bale baskets. Golf clubs were available to players for free (on the pratice).
The golf field of the club, was designed by the famous Irish player Paul McGinley. It has 18 holes. You can also attend golf lessons and the club’s academy or play football in the football pitch of the club. Also, you will be able to enjoy a great time in the spa and swimming pool.
Pirin Golf & Country Club
We discovered this wonderfull golf resort during a 3-days break in Razlog last May. The club is located very close to the ski resort of Bansko. Here you get to enjoy nature at the same time as playing golf. More, Pirin golf course offers a breathtaking panorama of the Pirin mountains. It is in this that it is exceptional.
As players, we also found the course to be quite technical and therefore more challenging. The area includes 150 hectares with a golf course and five star hotel. There are two golf courses. The bigger one has 18 holes and was designed by Ian Woosnam. And the second course – Pirin Pine – has five holes.
There is a training area is between the two courses. There tourists can take lessons using modern equipment available for them.
Seaside Golf Clubs : Light House, Black Sea Rama and Thracian Cliffs
On the Black Sea coast, near Kavarna and Balchik there are three very popular golf courses. They called Light House, Black Sea Rama and Thracian Cliffs. All three off them offer amazing views of the Black Sea and great design.
The famous golf Gary Player is the designer of Black Sea Rama, located only 5 kilometers away from Balchik. And they really have nothing to envy to the golf courses of Palm springs.
The resorts offers indoor and outdoor courses as well as a golf academy and even an outdoor amphitheater with 150 seats. There are also options for playing tennis, cycling, diving, horse riding, fishing and even hunting.
The guests are accommodated in a complex consisting of one and two-storey villas.
