Here is for sure my favorite Bulgarian product for skin: the Bulgarian rose. We could not start the article otherwise. As you probably already know, Bulgaria is famous for its Roses and their exceptional virtues. We also recommend visiting a rose oil factory in the valley of the rose in Bulgaria. It is very interesting to meet some producers who explain you all the process from the picking to the water bottle.

Used since antiquity for its regenerating and antibacterial virtues, Bulgarian rose water is a miracle product that can upset your daily life. Its antioxidant benefits are famous over the world. It will help to regrow the aging of the skin while concealing the wrinkles and fine lines. I love to use Bulgarian rose water every morning, when jumping out of my bed, like a fresh and floral moment before starting my crazy days.

My Beauty Tips :

Every Day : I use the natural Bulgarian rose water as a spray on my face before enjoying breakfast. Cooling effect guaranteed. I have the chance to have a Bulgarian Friend called Kraci living in Varna who products his own rose water and who makes me benefit. The most natural that you can have is from your personal production. Every week : I also add a few drops of Bulgarian rose water to my weekly white clay mask with a few drops of Jojoba essential oils.

CHERRY JUICE, FOR LIGHTER SKIN AND WELL SLEEP

Cherry juice offers many benefits. In addition to helping you sleep better, cherry juice is especially considered as an alternative treatment to prevent skin problems such as rosacea and acne. More, drinking cherry juice offers a lighter skin healthier because of its high content of vitamin C.

In Bulgaria, lot of families product their own cherry juice, very natural and delicious. When we meet our friends Nadia and Simeon, in Sofia, they offer us cherry juice from their own trees that make us happy.

BULGARIAN YOGURT, A SOFT AND NATURAL EXFOLIANT

Yogurt is a typical Bulgarian product, famous over the world – Even BBC takes about it. On my breakfast, I always add Bulgarian yogurt of buffalo on my cup of Bulgarian fruits. It is delicious and healthy.

Long-believed to be the secret to good health and longevity, thanks to the Bulgaricus lactobacillus bacteria, its benefits are not only taste. Indeed, you can also apply the yogurt on face. During your breakfast, take advantage of it to apply a portion of it to your face. This practice is approved by Bulgarian dermatologists.

My Beauty tips :

1) The recipe of yoghurt scrub :

Because it contains lactic acid, yogurt is an excellent enzymatic exfoliator (that is to say without grains). With it, no need for friction, it is acids that nibble dead skin and eliminate sebum : In a bowl, mix 1/2 Bulgarian yoghurt + a few drops of lemon juice (citric acid increases the capacity of enzymatic exfoliation) + 1 teaspoon of Bulgarian honey (to temper the aggressive effect of lemon).  Apply the liquid paste on your face, leave for at least 15 minutes without rubbing and rinse.

2) The beauty mask recipe with yogurt :

Yogurt captures moisture on the surface of the skin and regulates excess sebum. In a bowl, mix 1 Bulgarian yogurt with brewed whole milk + 1 teaspoon of honey. Apply the mixture with emphasis on the areas where the pores are particularly dilated, leave for at least 15 minutes and rinse. For an even more focused blackhead action, mix a little bit of Bulgarian yogurt with the same amount of turmeric or rice flour. Place the dough on the black dot area, massage for 5 minutes then rinse.

BULGARIAN HONEY, TO REGULATE SEBUM

The benefits of honey are not fair to apply on a spoon and soak in your herbal tea at night in front of a good movie. Indeed, this product of the hive is also among the best Bulgarian products for skin, efficiency on oily skin, acne prone. Oily skin is characterized by excessive activity of the sebaceous glands and too much sebum secretion. By regulating the production of sebum, honey can improve the appearance of the skin.

My Beauty tip :

In my beauty routine, I usually make a mask containing 2 tablespoons of white clay and a spoon of honey, that I let ask 20 minutes. I buy my honey at the small local Bulgarian producers. I can also apply only honey for 20 minutes then clean. The skin is softer.

LAVENDER OIL, TO NATURALLY TONE THE SKIN

Do you know that Bulgaria is the world’s first producer of lavender essential oil ? We love to walk in the lavender fields as far as the eye can see. And the scents are incredible.

Currently being used in the cosmetics industry and aromatherapy, and among its various benefits, the lavender oil helps to prevent expression lines by keeping the skin smooth. This is because lavender essential oil is beneficial to the nervous system. It regenerates the skin and preserves it against slackening of the skin.

My Beauty Tip :

Before going to bed, I add a drop of lavender essential oil to my vegetable oil of almond, which I apply to my skin. You can also add a few drops to your bath for a moment of optimal relaxation and for the pleasure of the senses.

LINDEN, TO KEEP THE FEET SOFT

You can find linden everywhere in Bulgaria, even in the center of Sofia the capital. I was wondering what people were picking up with big bags but now I know. They collected linden flowers. Really aromatic and great to prepare a tea, the Bulgarians also use it to keep feet very soft.

My Beauty Tip :

Boil water for 10 minutes. Add a nice handful of linden flowers. Then, dip your feet in it.

Enjoy !
