Balchik is a Black Sea coastal town and seaside resort in the Southern Dobruja area of northeastern Bulgaria. Located in Dobrich Province and 42 km northeast from Varna, Balchik is our small corner of paradise on the Bulgarian Black sea coast.
Small, pretty and offering a fishing port huddled below white-chalk cliffs, Balchik is a low-key holiday spot. We did not need more to be absolutely charmed by this small and peaceful seaside resort. Located not far from the popular resort Albena, coveted by holidaymakers from all over the world, Balchik is situated terrace-like on a small bay with narrow beach strips. The resort has kept its freshness by offering a unique atmosphere on the coast. Balchik is authentic and it feels good. A large and beautiful white building freshly renovated overlooking the bay. Here you will find also the Balchik tourist office.

The main attraction here is the Balchick Palace, with its lovely Botanical Gardens, a couple of kilometers west along the seafront promenade.

But if you like things even simpler, discover the resort by bike (possibility to rent a bike, every day, 8:0am-8:00pm, more info here) or stroll on the harbor will be a real moment of pleasure. You will be impressed by the color of the water : green emeraude. For sure, Balchik is unique.

Then, make a fresh break in on the tasty restaurants on the spot. Our daily address, Mikado Pizza & Pasta, for atmosphere, quality of service and food and the nice view on the habor and boats activities (The sweet chocolate vanilla ice cream is …. « A second one, please ! »).

For more than few hours, you can find in Balchik different kind of hotels, villas, guest houses and other types of accommodation in the resort for all types of travelers and budgets.
Definitely a very nice place to unwind alone, with friends or family.

Great travel plan and tips. I myself spent 15 days in Bulgaria in last April. But I had to miss Place. I totally loved Bulgaria and would like to visit again some day.
