The Retro Museum takes place in the Grand Mall of Varna since its inauguration in May 2015. Dedicated to the Socialism Period from 1945 to 1989, the Retro Museum is an incredible place to visit.
Can you imagine a place where the whole life of Socialism period would be exhibited ? The Retro Museum welcome since 2015, under the roof of the largest shopping center Grand Mall in Varna, vintage cars, wax figures of famous personalities from the socialist and quantity of objects of daily life related to this period. On approximately 4,000 square meters, visitors can discover how Bulgarians and citizens from other countries of Eastern Europe lived under socialism period.

The Retro exhibition is really impressive by the quantity of objects gathered and exposed. You will find there : Bulgarian cigarettes without filter, household from East Germany, Russian vacuum cleaners, Polish cosmetics, first computers, child games, and most desirable cars turn back the time machine.

This Retro Museum founded by the businessman Tsvetan Atanasov offers to the public a collection of over 50 cars from the era brands « Volga », « Trabant », « Skoda », « Moskvich », etc.. All of them perfectly well restored. The popular bikes « Simson » and « Balkan » will recall memories. The « Must Have » of the Retro Museum is definitely the impressive classic « Chaika GAZ-13 », a limo on which rode the memberships of Politburo of the Communist Party.

The wax figures of great personalities of the era like Todor Zhivkov, Leonid Brezhnev and Fidel Castro, but also people favorites as Georgi Partsalev, Emil Dimitrov, Todor Kolev, George Kaloyanchev bring a unique and incredible touch at this exhibition, as if it were still real and alive.
